Sixers Fan Bill Reynard Reviews The Playoff Landscape for the 76ers

Bill Reynard is a proud Philadelphia sports fan. The Philadelphia team with the highest likelihood of winning a championship and hosting a parade down Broad Street is the 76ers. With two playoff wins under their belt and Joel Embid looking prime for a run, Bill Reynard is taking a look at the state of the NBA playoff landscape.

With the Sixers up 2–0 on the Washington Wizards, Bill Reynard and other Sixers fans are starting to look at what opponent will be next. It will either be the New York Knicks or the Atlanta Hawks. With their series currently knotted at one, the best case scenario is for the Sixers to sweep the Wizards and have their next opponent play a full seven game series. While the Hawks may be a better matchup for the Sixers, the rivalry with New York would be electric in a playoff series. With the bonus of having a personality like Joel Embid play in front of the crowd at Madison Square Garden, Reynard is hoping for a Knicks Sixers matchup. Either way, the Sixers will be heavily favored in the next round.

On the other side of the Eastern Conference playoff bracket, the Milwaukee Bucks and Brooklyn Nets appear to be on a collision course in the second round. The third and second seeds respectively, this has all the makings of an incredible series. The reigning MVP in Giannis will have his work cut out for him as he takes on Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, James Harden and the rest of a very talented Brooklyn roster. Brooklyn has shown to struggle against big men and it will take a giant effort from Giannis to get the series win. Bill Reynard expects a long series and for Brooklyn to eventually come out on top.

If the Eastern Conference plays out the way Reynard expects, it is going to be an incredibly entertaining matchup between Brooklyn and Philadelphia. The fans will be going crazy at every game and the hope is that the homecourt advantage is what separates the Sixers from the Nets. The Nets will be the favorites in this matchup thanks to their three perennial all-stars, but Bill Reynard believes the size of Ben Simmons and Joel Embid will make it difficult for Brooklyn to control the paint. Look for the Sixers to be playing in the NBA Finals in late June.

As for the Western Conference, the Lakers are growing healthy and are looking to take out a Suns team who has to be despondent about playing the reigning champs in the first round, despite being a 2 seed. With injuries to Denver and the Clippers looking vulnerable against Dallas, it’s looking like we may be headed towards an LA Philly matchup, which is something Philadelphia fans have been hoping for since Allen Iverson and company lost the finals 4–1 to LA in 2001. Could the Sixers win that series? Sure, but Anthony Davis and Lebron James are incredible, generational talents.

It’s going to be fun to watch it all playout. Stay tuned for updated predictions as the NBA playoffs roll on.
